Archaeology of Lived Spaces
 
The XXth International Congress of Classical Archaeology will be held in Paris at the Campus Condorcet from 3 to 9 June 2024. Its primary theme is the archaeology of lived spaces. The idea is to consider spaces or buildings – whether political, religious, economic or domestic – that are the subject of archaeological research, by trying to understand what took place in them. We ask all participants to go beyond their architecture, their history or even their chronology, even they should never be forgotten. All propositions should try to analyse the different ways in which these places and buildings may have been used through time, sometimes over the long term and in very different ways. Such an approach calls for particular attention to data from archaeometric disciplines. It lies at the crossroads of archaeology, history and anthropology.

Archéologie des espaces vécus
 
Le XXe Congrès international d’archéologie classique se tiendra à Paris au Campus Condorcet du 3 au 9 juin 2024. Son thème principal est l’archéologie des espaces vécus. Il s’agit de considérer des espaces ou des bâtiments – politiques, religieux, économiques ou domestiques – qui font l’objet de recherches archéologiques, en essayant de comprendre ce qui a pu s’y dérouler. Nous demandons à tous les participants de ne pas se contenter de considérer leur architecture, leur histoire ou leur chronologie, même si elles ne doivent jamais être oubliées. Toutes les propositions doivent tenter d’analyser les différentes façons dont ces lieux et bâtiments ont pu être utilisés au fil du temps, parfois sur la longue durée. Une telle approche nécessite d’accorder une attention particulière aux données issues des disciplines archéométriques. Elle se situe au carrefour de l’archéologie, de l’histoire et de l’anthropologie.

Archeologia degli spazi vissuti
 
Il XX Congresso Internazionale di Archeologia Classica si terrà a Parigi presso il Campus Condorcet dal 3 al 9 giugno 2024. Il tema principale è l’archeologia degli spazi vissuti. L’idea è quella di considerare gli spazi o gli edifici – politici, religiosi, economici o domestici – oggetto dell ricerca archeologica, cercando di comprendere le attività che in essi si svolgevano. Chiediamo a tutti i partecipanti di non limitarsi all’esame delle architetture, o alla loro storia e/o cronologia, sebbene esse non dobbano essere trascurate. Tutte le proposte devono cercare di analizzare le differenti modalità in cui luoghi ed edifici possono essere stati utilizzati nel corso del tempo, a volte anche su lungo periodo. Particolare attenzione verrà data alle discipline archeometriche, con approci che privilegiano l’incontro tra archeologia, storia e antropologia.
